Area Attractions and Things to Do During your Petoskey Vacation
Downtown – 0.5 mile walk to downtown shopping, bars, restaurants and coffee shops
Hike/Bike/Jog – 0.2 mile walk to the Little Traverse Wheelway. This 26 mile bike path goes through Petoskey and runs from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs. Bike rentals are available a few doors down from Latitude 45 Bicycles and Fitness.
Waterfront – 0.4 miles from the Bayfront Park. Walk out to the Lighthouse and jump off the breakwall, public boat launch and day slips available for boaters, watch a local baseball game under the lights in the evenings, visit the Little Traverse Historical Society History Museum, and enjoy one of Petoskey’s million dollar sunsets.
Recreation – Walk the steps next door down to the Bear River Valley Recreation Area. Enjoy 1.5 miles of paved and unpaved walking trails for hiking or biking. 1.4 mile long whitewater course available. Pick up lunch in one of our local delis and enjoy in one of multiple public picnic areas.
Beach Day – make the 4.8 mile drive over to Petoskey State Park to enjoy a beautiful day on the beach of Lake Michigan. Climb the dunes, enjoy a game of beach volleyball or search for Petoskey stones along the lakeshore.
Wine Tour – Enjoy a day of wine tasting at one of over a dozen wineries that are in the Petoskey Wine Region. Tour guides and drivers are available for hire.
Ski/Snowboard – 9.7 miles to the North you can enjoy a day of powder at either Boyne Highlands or Nubs Nob. 17 miles South you can ski at Boyne Mountain or enjoy a day at Boyne’s famous indoor waterpark Avalanche Bay.
Golf – with dozens of golf courses in Northern Michigan, we have a course from the novice to the professional and everything in between.
Mackinac Island – 40 miles away you can take a step back in time for the day and enjoy a trip to famous Mackinac Island. Enjoy a horse drawn carriage tour, bike the 8 miles around the island and enjoy all of the locally made fudge you can handle.
